Founded in 1923, International is one of the most charming and antique Hotels in Lisbon. THE BELLE ÉPOQUE
International Hotel was born in one of the eldest street of Lisbon, Betesga, whose origins go back to the XV Century. At the time it was named Grande Hotel International and was one of the few hotels that had the luxury called private bathroom. Portuguese businessmen stayed at the Hotel, next to the glamour and trendy areas of Chiado and Baixa, while at the States American were listening to the new crazy Jazz music and Europeans having fun on the belle époque cabarets.
